US president readies bill on Russians' assets spending on Ukraine

WAHINGTON, Apr 28 (PRIME) -- U.S. President Joe Biden will present a bill allowing to withdraw assets of the Russian businessmen in order to spend them on the needs of Ukraine on Thursday, the White House said.

"This package of proposals will establish new authorities for the forfeiture of property linked to Russian kleptocracy, allow the government to use the proceeds to support Ukraine, and further strengthen related law enforcement tools," the statement read.

The measure was elaborated by the Department of the Treasury, the Department of Justice, the Department of State and the Department of Commerce.
